Re: 1972 LT-1 Stereo Radio Problem
The parts in the radio most often causing that are (refer to SAMS AR-78 schematic): R3, C10, C8, occasionally C9 or corrosion on the AM/FM switch contacts. If you're using the Delco maintenance manual, let me know and I'll check to be sure that the parts designators are the same. Just a case of aging components and very common. Change all the electrolytics on the audio sub board and you'll be in business again.

Re: 1972 LT-1 Stereo Radio Problem
Jerry: Thanks for the information. Do you know of a good radio shop that could help me with this as it is much too technical for me. I am also looking for the brace that holds the radio to the floor on the right side as well as the nut to hold the cable in the back of the radio. Thanks again!- Top

Re: 1972 LT-1 Stereo Radio Problem
I didn't see any on Ebay or at the standard vette supplier sites Martin but will check with shops I do work for and the Delco radio part suppliers I use.
With luck, someone on here with tons of parts will dig them up for you in the mean time.
They'll show up...

Re: 1972 LT-1 Stereo Radio Problem
Consider asking your local Chevy dealer who works on classic Delco radios in your neck of the woods. At one time certain independent United Delco dealers around the country specialized in radio repair and we're lucky to have one of these 'good ole boys' still in business here in Denver...- Top
