C3 Fuel Tank Shield & Overflow hose

I've searched the Archives, AIM, and some restoration books, but can't find the answer to this question:
How does the Fuel fill overflow hose get routed on a 1971?
Does the hose travel from the boot, then "Over" or "Under" the Rear tank shield? By "Under" I mean sandwiched between the tank and shield.

I've found archived instructions on securing it to the RR bumper support,
(hose routed inside curvature of RR bumper and tie wrapped to support rod).

Also, any words of wisdom on reinstalling the fuel tank? Definitely not a one man job...

The rear overflow hose get's routed OVER the tank shield and then strapped to the rear bumber bracket with 2 ties. (In the AIM it's in UPC 8 sheet B4). If it went under the shield it would get pinched between the shield and the seam on the tank.

You CAN put it in by yourself.. If it's empty it's fairly light, the removable tank support has a slotted end,(that end goes to the pass. side), get a nut with washer and bolt started in the frame on that side, (nut with washer facing down, UPC 8, B1, have the support and another nut and bolt close at hand, get the tank and straps and the shield up there resting on the rear part of the frame, grab the support and slide the slotted end over the nut and washer you started in the pass. side frame, get the support up against the frame on the driver's side and nut and bolt it, then bolt the support in up there tight. Make final adjustments to the tank and straps now, it won't fall out. It's really not that hard. Good Luck...
