    1971 Keys & Fuses

Anyone know where I can buy the fuses with red and white paint? How about the keys with A & B at a reasonable price (Not $75/key--need 4). Can the key have the back plastic coverig with GM, knockout, and letter A & B?
    Thanks Paul

No the key can not have the black (or any other color) plastic covering because the original keys did not have that.

Contact Peter Lindahl for keys at a reasonable cost. Look him up on the "Members List" button above. As someone else here said: Peter is the key man.

I saw colored fuses for sale in one of the brake kit web sites, but they are for a Pontiac. The site caters to A-body cars from the '60s and '70s. I haven't seen the actual product, so I can not tell you if they are painted on the inside or outside (like some other "reproductions". Maybe you can be the fuse quality tester, or maybe someone else has already spent the bux to check them out.

Paul - the fuses show up on ebay pretty often. Here's one auction now, which I have no connection with:

I understand your frustration with the cost of getting the exact right keys with the correct knock outs, but trust me, it's worth it to bite the bullet and do it right the first time.
      Good luck

Paul also check with Peter for the fuses I know he had a bunch of red and maybe other colors plus if you need flashers, wiper parts and rad caps peter is the source also. If you are going to Charlotte Peter will be there. Paul 18046

I may change my ignition because it sticks occassionally. If I have the correct keys do they have to be cut? As far as numbers on the key--it that based on the car and the year or the lock itself. Do they deduct points when judging if the flashers have the correct number #536 and DOT and not the manufacturer listed in the judging manual?
          Thanks Paul

I got my fuses from LIC quite awhile ago and I know you don't have a mid-year but if the fuses your looking for are also the same as the 60's you can get them there. Know nothing about the keys. Good luck.

The keys have to be cut and work the locks.
