    69 Corvette paint stripping

I just finished stripping the paint off my 69, using Capt Lee's Spray-Strip. Not a fun job but it's done. After stripping, I have uncovered a number of body repairs however my question is what to do with the bonding strips located along the upper area of the front fenders that appear to run the length of the fender. Should these areas, where the fiberglass have been bonded together, be covered with a light coat of body filler or glaze? Jim

Jim - I would make sure all the stripper is diluted/neutralized and clean the body with MEK....several times 'lightly' allow to evaporate each time. I personally do not like using strippers on fiberglass because it has a tendency to bleed through later on after the gel coat/primer sealer is applied. I personally prefer media blasting but your past that stage now.

Second thought, hold the phone..... Maybe a good fiberglass/body-man can chime in on this one. I would hate to miss guide you because several technicians have different way's of doing this......

    Good luck, Bill
