    Re: 70 LT1 versus 70 LS5

I owned a 70 LT-1 conv. in the 70's for about 8 years and approx. 40,000 miles. It was the sweetest small block Chevy motor with a carb I ever owned. That little mouse motor loved anything over 3,500 rpm but still was easy to drive at lower rpm's around town. Later in life when I bought my 67 L79 I was hoping for a simular experience but not even close. If I were in the market for a C3 car the LT-1 would be my choice again.

When I've looked for that alternator I've often said to myself "thank heaven for the big blocks or there wouldn't be any of these anywhere"

        Wayne,
70 LS-5 A/C cars used an 884 alternator. There were plenty of those made.
