There was a question asked about A muncie leaking from the counter gear mainshaft. The main shaft is a press fit in the case . If it is leaking out of the hole in the case it is egg shaped . Probaly from some abuse. On A hard pull the shaft is pushed to the bottom of the case . This causes the contact of the teath to be farther away from centerline causing the teath break off .I tore A lot of these up with my right foot. The fix is to have the case bored out and a bushing put in .Make sure you tell the machine shop you want a press fit. I believe A old voltswagon bug wrist pin bushing works great . For Stock Car racing I use to have the the hole moved A couple of thousand's higher in the case for gear contact closer to center line .The best way to check your case is cut A old shaft and test fit it . If it wobles in the case your in trouble.Fill your trans with grease before you put it in and see if leaks out of the counter gear hole.
