Re: Can We Talk Radiator Caps?
Fred - After looking at the picture of your cap you posted, I went and looked in my RC-15 radiator pressure cap collection and I found several examples that look like your cap and the ones I have definitely do not have a circle around the 15#/RC-15 stamping. In fact what I found interesting is that the characters of 15#/RC-15 stamping on these caps without the circle are very much like the characters used on the pre-1966 RC-15s I have. Anyway, it's an interesting radiator cap with regards to the stamping on the cap and while it is a bit different from the more common stamping we Corvette "nuts" want to see on 1966 and new RC-15 radiator pressure caps with the AC in a circle on the left and the 15#/RC-15 in a circle on the right, I can tell you there are other examples of RC-15s manufactured by AC where the stampings differ.
