    C1-Windshield frame restoration costs?

    Since Areba Plating went out of business, I need a new plating shop to send my 60 parts to. First, has anyone recently paid to have their windshield posts replated? My windshield posts have no pitting. What are the average Costs to plate the posts and get the windshield moldings restored? I have heard Paul's and Frankford are some of the best platers,but slow and pricey. Thanks for your time. DG

      Dick,

      I have used both Frankford & Paul's. If I had items to send today, I would send them to Paul's, though you need to pay them upfront for all the work.

      Even though Frankford does great work at reasonable rates, it takes forever to get the pieces back. I have never seen any business as slow as they are.

      I last used Paul's in August. I gave them trim from my Wonderbar radio and two other items at Carlisle. I had them back before the end of September.

              Paul's has been my choice for years. Excellent worksmanship, honest, looks like factory.

                  Dick, remember to re-cut the trim slots with a die grinder in the bottom of the outside windshield pillars for the stainless to snap into. Paul's does great job. My 57 chrome is 10 years old and looks like it was done last week. Gary....
