I am trying to find the correct finish for the front coil springs on a F41 1966 Corvette. The Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide states the springs are coated with a rust inhibitor that has a black appearance. Does this mean the springs are black and if so how much gloss does this have? It also states the F41 spring is color coded with dark green paint and refers to a table. I don't see this table in the manual. I would like to know what shade of green is this and how is it applied. One of the coils is supposed to have a small ID tape "flagged" around one of the coils. What does "flagged" mean and on which coil does it belong? I think for F41 springs the tag is "EA". Any help with this ID problem would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Coil Spring Finish
Barry,
I doing a 66 BB with F41 suspension. When I took the car apart the front coil springs had no green paint on them but it did have a particle piece of green tape (ID tag). When the spring is in the car the tag was around the coil that was even with the bottom of the frame, so when the spring is in the car you will only see the bottom of the ID tag. Hope this helps you.
