    '65 C60 Hood Release Assembly...different than non-C60???

    I am trying to determine if the hood release assembly that I removed from my 1965 Corvette equipped with a/c is correct. According to the Judging Guide, an a/c equipped car will have a longer (6-1/2") hood release bracket so that it will clear the left side a/c duct work. The assembly on the left in the pictures below is what I removed from the car last night. The one on the right is from a 1965 without a/c.

    My question is this;

    Is the handle show on the assembly on the left correct for a 1965? The handles on each assembly are clearly different. The handle on the left assembly looks like what is on a 1967. Was this handle also used on a 1965 model with a/c or has it been replaced sometime before we bought the car?

    Any help in confirming what I have is correct or not would be greatly appreceiated.

    Best Regards,

    neither handle came off a 67 vette. the c-2 AC cable is in fact longer than a non-c 60 cable off a c-2.mike.

      James -- can't speak to '67, but the bracket on left looks correct for '65 A/C; however the handle has been replaced (should be same, C60 or not). The one on the right is the non-air bracket and handle assy.

      Trivia: just noticed that both of mine have a "Delco Remy made in USA" stamping between the two mounting bolt holes --- what a strange piece to be supplied by an electrical equipment manufacturer .

        Wayne,

        I was hoping that you would see this post and reply since I knew you had both a/c and non a/c 1965 cars. Thanks for the verification regarding the handles. Looks like I have some work to do to replace the handle.

          James -- I forgot to add: on your non-C60 handle, someone has added a set-screw (probably handle had been pulled off at some point); shouldn't be there.
