I am trying to determine if the hood release assembly that I removed from my 1965 Corvette equipped with a/c is correct. According to the Judging Guide, an a/c equipped car will have a longer (6-1/2") hood release bracket so that it will clear the left side a/c duct work. The assembly on the left in the pictures below is what I removed from the car last night. The one on the right is from a 1965 without a/c.
My question is this;
Is the handle show on the assembly on the left correct for a 1965? The handles on each assembly are clearly different. The handle on the left assembly looks like what is on a 1967. Was this handle also used on a 1965 model with a/c or has it been replaced sometime before we bought the car?
Any help in confirming what I have is correct or not would be greatly appreceiated.
Best Regards,
James West
