    National meet some day?

From the beginning of NCRS it has always been the goal of the judges for them to learn and pass on what they have learned to help people bring their Corvette back to original . Weather to have a trailer queen or a driver, it's up to the member to decide .People seeing me use my 55 pulling a tear drop trailer should realize you don't need to have a trailer queen to receive a flight award and tell their friends that who may be thinking about joining NCRS .
Most SACC members are NCRS members and I would love to see the two join on the field for both nationals at the same time , That would be a great unforgettable time to remember and learn form each other.

    What do you think??

I concur completely. I might even go to that meet, assuming I can still find my disguise.

I'm GLAD your NCRS experience has improved since you decided to venture back out onto today's judging field, Roy. Attaboy!

My attitude has always been to support NCRS , do you remember when I started SACE and why! Because I like corvettes of all flavor weather there trailer queens or have added accessories or have a the wrong engine or ( pad broach marks) which in turn made me an outsider for starting the thing. Most all members were NCRS members and I told non-members to join NCRS and I probably helped NCRS gain members. So for years that kept me busy.
NCRS has changed and has gotten better each year which I've seen going to meets with my 55 and the 05 National for the 1955 Corvette proved to me I was welcomed even pulling a trailer . I would like to see more SACC members to realize they can be more of a part of the NCRS family by bringing their Corvette to be judged and not looked up-pond as those they don't compare . I've been greeted good and judged fairly weather I make a flight award doesn't matter to me And that might up set some people thinking I don't take NCRS serious, it's the people that make NCRS not the Corvette

Not this time, but will bring the 55 ( sportsman) and my wife will drive our 06 because were bringing two grand daughters that dig Corvettes and wont to use the hotel pool . Because of the poor economy I here it may not be a large meet by members from the East coast.

A national meet would be great if centrally located and able to handle a large crowd with vette parking, adequate accommodations, etc. I vote for mid-summer..jf

I don't think the SACC folks would have a problem, but I remain VERY skeptical of the NCRS folks.
Yes, I agree with Roy, the NCRS premadonna attitude has improved-----------------------but it ain't totally gone by a long shot!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooooooooooo, don't hold your breath for a joint event to occur in this century!

So pardon my ignorance, but I'm fairly new to this. I was wondering, what is SACC?

                    Thanks.

Ken Sacc Stands For Solid Axle Corvette Club. The C-1's From 1953 To 1962. They Have A Annual Convention But They Do Not Judge Cars

OK may be not mingle them in with the NCRS Corvettes but in a stetting next to each other, say half a foot ball field a part. There must be SACC members that feel the same way as some NCRS members feel ( good and bad). With each doing there own thing.
I think an event like that would be a great promo for both.

                        1. It may cause SACC members to go more like NCRS in originality
                        2. Have NCRS members realize making a few changes on a Corvette doesn't mean there destroyed.

                        OK call me a dreamer

                          It's REALLY unfortunate that you're not a girl---------------------'cause I'd give you a big hug and a kiss!!!!!!!

                            Ken,
It's kind of a long story.
Here is the shortest version that I can make it.
Years ago (and it's not TOTALLY different now) the 53-62 Corvettes were sorta kinda regarded as "stepchildren" by certain groups. They just didn't totally fit in with the 63-later Corvette crowd. Also, the early cars seemed to be more condusive to various modifications------------particularly drivetrain modifications (ie, replacing weak 265-283s with a 327 or even a 350, replacing a 3sp with a 4sp, etc ). These kinds of early Vettes with mods-----------and their owners, were, to varying degrees, often regarded as outcasts.
Sooooooooooooooo, Roy put together an organization, SACE (Straight Axle Corvette Enthusiasts). ANY, and I mean ANY, 53-62 Corvette, in ANY condition, with ANY kind of modification, or factory stock, was accepted and WELCOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And that's the short version. The organization has undergone some changes and is now SACC, but the SAME PHILOSOPHY still prevails----------------if it's a 53-62 Corvette---------------it's a SACC car!
And that's basically what SACC is. And I'm one of the founding members.

                              Tom,
Thanks for the short history lesson. I have always enjoyed the C1 generation but prefer the C2's. I would think that with the dwindling C1 generation number of cars and owners that a common get together would be a good thing. Especially given the fact that us "old" folks have a tendency to mellow with age.
