Can I ask what the serial number is of the Nov. 57' produced RPO 684 car? How about the original color combo. My Nov. 57' RPO 684 is #1327 and was two-tone charcoal w/ silver coves red interior. It has the original 908 dist. dated 7 L 57. John DeGregory recommended my putting a 4900R on it.

Thanks again for the help! Is the serial number of the air meter the 7014801 that is stamped into the top of the flange area of the air meter in Toms picture?
      Regards
No. If it exists the serial number on the air meter is a 4 digit number. Air meter serial numbers are not consistent. Meaning not all of the AM's were stamped. Same old story.

There's a gentleman out here in AZ who in 1957-60 served in the Philadelphia zone office, running the "warranty repair" problem area. In conversations with Mr Jackson (who also participated in the delivery of the 53's to the DuPonts, etc.) he had two memorable quotes:

        1. "In 1957, I'm not sure that they ever made 2 FI units alike.".

        2. "It got so bad we finally bought 5 spare units from Rochester
so that when any one of my 3 guys working FI went on a repair call,
they took an entire unit with them.".

If you are asking about mine, its serial number 1004, white, charcoal interior, no apparent cove color. The FI parts we are talking about ( exception the 962 & the multistamped 802 FMs) were with the car (not on the car) when the second owner bought the car from the original owner. I recently bought the parts from the second owner. The ID tag had been removed from the plenum and we are trying to find out if it may be the original unit and what unit(s) may be appropriate.
          Thanks
