    60-70 Fan Clutch CK #3916141 R

Is their any operational problems with running a CK fan clutch on 67 small block without factory AC.

As noted in the 67 Judging Guide, a small block should have a CJ fan clutch which has a shaft length of 1.8", whereas a CK has a shaft length of 1.5".

Seems to me that this would put the fan with the CJ clutch , some .3" closer to the the shroud and radiator. Would this make the cooling any better, and is it worth getting or making a spacer for the .3".

Or is it not worth worrying about.

I would say it's no problem, at all, using the 3916141 as a direct replacement. In fact, GM has for over 25 years cataloged the 3916141 as the SERVICE fan clutch for ALL 1960-70 Corvette applications.

      Jerry -

I've had a 3916141 on my '67 SB for seven years, works fine.

        Thanks, Joe, John,

I have one coming in preparation for the road tour. Will be meeting the eastern tour in Barstow in July.

Had the water pump redone and the orig radiator/block flushed last year. I think the original fan clutch is still on.

Last weekend from Tahoe to Sonora, I hit some 100d heat at the lower elevations. It held to between 180-190 while I was cruising, but when I had to slow down going through the towns, it when up to 210 on the gauge, but actually felt a little hotter.

Thought I'd do the road tour with a new fan clutch. (But the original one will be in my luggage, just in case)

        See you in San Jose,
