    Where To Purchase Correct 1971 Seat Belts??

    Hi Every One

    I need to purchse a full set of correct seat belts for my 1971 Vette. Could some please help me with some names of companies that can supply me with the correct Seat Belts for a resonable price.

    I'm aware of SSNAKE-OYL & AMERICAS FINEST CORVETTES who supply the belts i need, but i hope there are other companies that can help me.

    I don't have a set of belts that could be restored and i also live in Australia witch makes finding a set even harder and more expensive, thats why i'm contacting my fellow members in the hope they have some information for me.

    Kind Regards...

    Greg...

    Hi Greg,

    You want correct belts and you want someone you can trust (the latter being as, if not more, important, especially given your lack of proximity). Most on this site will unquestionably recommend Charlie Santorelli (Seatbelt Sity) 908-719-2354 in NJ. I can't comment on his prices - I assume they are competitive, but remember, you ultimately get what you pay for (the tragedy is when you don't get your money's worth). Charlie has correct repros, and an extensive supply of usable originals and is beyond reproach.

    Good luck!

    Louis

      Louis is right on about Charlie. You can't go wrong with him.

        Charlie Santorelli did the belts for my 63. Fine work and reasonable price. Not cheap, but reasonable.

        As I tell others, Charlie isn't a warm and fuzzy kind of guy who likes to chit chat. he's all business and to the point. Don't call to talk, just call for seatbelts !

          Charlie did my '72 as well. I got a little frustrated at first, but soon warmed up and found him to be very knowledgeable, helpful and reasonably priced vs the "others". He restores AND sells seatbelts.

          Call Charlie - he doesn't "believe" in email - you'll have to call or send snail mail...

            I second all the comments about Charlie. He did a matching set of lap belts for my 70, and they are fantastic. He's all about business, and very straightforward.

              Greg;

              I'll add to the endorsements of Charlie at Seat Belt Sity.. He did a complete set for my 1963 and restored the belts on my 1965. Top quality work.. I would not use anyone else.

              Charlie only does business in person or via phone... no internet or website. Just call him during his published hours (like 9am to 4pm Eastern Time Zone) and he will be a happy camper...and so will you!

              Good luck,

              Joel

                  Thanks Guys...

                  I rang and spoke to Charlie and every one is right about his communication, he is a man thats gets to the point. Having said that, i found him polite, helpful and happy to answer my questions, i like Charlie.

                  There is no criticisum directed at Charlie about what i'm about to write at all, i'm sure the prices are the same for every one. But unfortunately and this is my problem, not Charlies, i just can'y afford the $1150.00 with shipping Charlie is asking for the full set of belts i need. In Australian dollars that comes to just over $1500.00. I'm a working class man with a budget.

                  I want to thank you all for taking the time to send me information, i will just have to keep looking.

                  Kind regards to my mates in the NCRS!!!!

                    Greg;

                    Good Luck! Charlie is an interesting guy.. I believe he is an ex school teacher out here in NJ. He does not like the internet and from what I can see, likes his privacy and therefore sticks to strict "hours" of operation.

                    He actually lives not too far from me. Whenever I have gone over to see him I bring my wife along. She asks him questions and more or less draws him out an he becomes quite personable after a fashion..

                    Like I said, Charlie is only a few miles from my place here in NJ. If you need any help just let me know. I would be happy to run on-site interface for you.. Worst case, I could pick up your belts and ship them out to you and we could square up at some point. I'm happy to help.

                    Regards,

                    Joel

                      Your lady wife must bring the soft side out of Charlie, i don't think that would be easy??

                      WOW, what an amazing & generous offer Joel, i wish i could take you up on it, but i only have $1000.00 Australian dollars saved up for the belts i need. That about $750.00 U.S.

                      I v'e been restoring my 1971 LS5 T-Top to NCRS Standard for 2 1/2 years now and the seat belts are the only major parts i need to finish her. I'm 52 yrs old, i have wished for & drampt about owning a 1970-72 Big Block 4-Sp T-Top Corvette since i was in my early teens.

                      All the best to you matie, i won't forget your generousity & kindness, anther great American guy i've met since joining the NCRS.
