A guy I know has some 257 flashing bulbs. They were bought back in the late 1980's. Are these better than the ones the guys are buying now and having trouble with? I though I might get 2. Thanks Dale

Re: 257 flashing bulbs
Dale:
The bulbs everyone wants are the old GE #257 bulbs. Although I have a few of these, I found that the ones made by Westinghouse from the 1960-1980 time period also work correctly. I recently bougth a 10-pak of these bulbs from a guy on E-bay.
These flashing bulbs were also used in pinball machines, model trains, and RV's, and you can find them for sale on these websites. Also a "google" search for "GE #257" or just "#257 bulb" will often bring up some parts houses with old GE or Westinghouse stock.
I think Sylvania and AC Delco also made/sold these bulbs back then .....and they should also work correctly.
