Look at the vent tubes .
notice the center carb did not have the vent extensions and i bet that was because that carb had a internal baffle to keep the gasoline from coming out the vent on acceleration and the others needed the extensions. read my posts above what we had to do when racing those 3 X 2 carb setup.

What does the '67 TIM&JG say on this ?
Wayne has provided some very interesting documents, including a copy of that famous 427 tri-power Corvette magazine print advertisment.
Personally, I can't say whether or not early, pre-November 1966 Corvettes with 427 tri-power had vent tubes on outboard Holley carburetors, but I can say in owning these carbs for 35+ years, I have never seen one in use, or on a core.
I have two complete sets of original Holley tri-power carburetors that are un-restored "cores" I keep as spares. One of my sets of cores are original removed from a very, very early 1967 with 427 tri-power. One of the cores is factory date code stamped 602 (October 1966, second week), and the other 6B2 (December 1966, second week).
Neither of these two un-restored cores have vent tubes, or any sign they ever had been installed and removed during a service directive. These cores show no sign of ever being rebuilt, and very obviously, have not been restored.
This is no proof that vents tubes were non-existant on early 1967 Corvette tri-powers, but as mentioned, I have not ever seen any in place. Hopefully, we can hear from the 1967 team leader on this subject, as I would bet he has encountered some very early 1967 big blocks during judging.
      Ridge.

Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .

A quick Email to Nick (67 Team Leader) would probably answer the question. He is one of the most knowlegable guys on the subject.
