    Terry,

    I will take a look at that book, I am aware of the different cast #'s but never could figure out differences just like 2680 and 4577 crankshafts for 327..

      That was the 60's version of "continuous improvement"; most of the differences related to changes in the foundry cores for web thicknesses, radii, wall and deck thicknesses, coolant passage sizes/contours, and changes that didn't affect the machining operations. The high-speed machining transfer lines were pretty much "sacred" from a change perspective, as they were a HUGE installation with enormous investment, ran 24 hours a day, and didn't lend themselves to ANY changes.
