Does anyone have an original trunk lock from a 53-58 that is out of the car that they could take a look at and describe to me how the stainless steel face cap (sometimes called a bezel) is affixed to the lock? Some locks have a crimp on the back edge of the face cap that covers a full 360 degrees. Is this true of original 53-58 trunk locks? Or do original trunks locks for those years have 4 individual tabs that are bent over to retain the face cap? I know that replacement face caps only come with the individual tabs, but I want to know if original 53-58 trunk locks also came with the 4 tabs to retain the face cap.
Thanks,
Gary
