Roy, it sounds like you've come up with a solution. I know it will take a bit of work on NCRS' part, but is it possible that it could publish books in color and sell them to anyone interested? It might be a way to generate a little more money for NCRS, and also help members gain an understanding of what is correct for their 'vettes. I'd buy a couple.

    Thanks.

You guys can go for it. I've been working on the 56-7 manual along with a team of 10 other Members for over 2 plus years. It's a big deal to get a team to agree on what's correct and what isn't. What you're suggesting is not a simple nor easy task! Let us know who volunteers to do this so your names can be passed along to the respective Team Leaders. Gary....

        Ken,

There are several books in the NCRS Store that were written by NCRS Members and sold through the NCRS. I don't know the details of the arraignment but Gary or Eric Mortimer could tell you how it works.

I have a '73 Unrestored Top Flight and would happilly submit any pixs of original parts. I keep a data base of original parts pixs that greatly aided me in achieving the Top Flight goal.

            Re: NCRS Moderators - question/idea

I'd be happy to get involved with a project such as this. However, I'm not an expert on any corvette. I'm still learning. I can certainly be involved on the administrative side, and I'm good at the mundane work needed to move a project such as this to completion. Also, I have the time to devote to such a project. Any ideas on the next step.

            Thanks.

Myself and surely many other corvette owners are taking pics. of various parts and markings as we continue to locate and compare with others that post on this board. It would be great to see the variety or different features each corvette may have without searching different web sites or purchasing books to compile this info. into one source. Steve

Pertaining to 55 Corvette only to have a pic. File showing and explaining original parts to owners what is original and why ,would help them to get ahead of the JM that's not yet covered or explained in the JM today, like the few items I show here!

Like there was two design's of Dist. Early and late at the area it's held down not mentioned in the JM

Like there was second design SEAL BEAM (all glass) headlight bulb not mentioned in the JM.

Like the air cleaner bottom being painted gray and the parts held to gather by three spot welds and not a ( brass ring) not mentioned in the JM.

Like the original oil cap "O" meets the indent line not mentioned in the JM.

This is just a few items I've shown to help people SEE what they need to know in helping them get ahead of a new up dated JM if it ever gets done. So like I've said to 55 owners if you think I'm right copy the pic's and look into it. I don't think a file of pic. Will ever be offered on this forum do to the lack of not having documentation on every part, even tho it was done . and may never be in the JM ether!!

I think many members are worried if they post a pic. They'll be challenged by others , I don't worry about it , I wont to be because that's how we and I learn.

                  Re: NCRS Moderators - question/idea

I agree with others, that's how we learn.

Sometimes there is no exact answer, but pictures help and I think owners can be cautious to say "this is what I found".

As more people post pictures, you may have a variety of things that are 'correct'.......it's still up to the owner to decide what they want to do with their car.

The pictures are provided as reference and not (at least in my mind) considered the "end all be all" to what is correct. I think between pictures, the JM's and the AIM the Corvette owner still decides what is right for them.

Thanks for everyones input and I hope the moderators and NCRS discuss this.

                  Bob
