I am thinking of going to wider tires on my 1966 coupe. I am currently running P205 R75 15's (Coker Gold Lines) on Western Knock Offs. I would like to switch to B.F. Goodrich 215 R70 15 Radial T/A tires on stock steel wheels and am wondering if there are going to be any major tire/fenderwell issues, especially in the front, if I make the switch to these tires with a 70 series aspect ratio. Thanks, Lincoln

Re: Wider tires
Lincoln:
I have the 215's on my '65 convertible and haven't had any issues with tire rubbing or clearance. The car was purchased with 215/R70/15's, and when I bought new tires about 6 months ago, I wanted to make sure they were the correct size. There isn't a big difference between the 205's and the 215's, and although both are considered "correct", I decided to stay with the 215's. You will be OK with either tire, but I like the way the 215's look... and the handling is good, too.
I attached a photo of my front tire (Yokohama Aegis LS4 whitewalls).
