A guy is selling a 67 radio with bezel and all knobs. He's asking $300 for it. Is this a fair price ?Claims it works. Thanks, Bill.

Re: 67 AM/FM radio question
Bill, I sold one about two years ago on the popular internet auction site, that I had gotten in a group of used parts.
It worked, and had uncut wires, but did not have the knobs.
Sold for $300 plus shipping. I've seen nice, original knobs bring $40/$60.
Hope this helps,

Re: 67 AM/FM radio question
Bill, ask him if there is an ID sticker on the radio, As I recall 67's started at 81-FSD-XXXX. Where XXXX is a four digit number from 0001 to 9999. The next sequence would have been 81-FSE-XXXX. etc. I've seen an FSJ in a late VIN.

Re: 67 AM/FM radio question
In addition to Harry's advice, ask him to provide the red ink-stamp date on the DS-501 power transistor, if not replaced by a service part (the one in the lower finned area of the back heat radiator). A real '67 that I took down the info on was : 81FSI-2254, with DS-501 of 6646; sold for $214 in Jan '06. Another real one from '67 VIN 12168 is 81FSI-6945.
Many sellers just slap a set of '67 knobs on any C2 radio to claim the big $$$.
He says it works, but ask if on both AM and FM (picks up stations clearly, or just static ?)
I stopped buying these C2 radios back a few years ago, when the eBay prices exceeded $ 100. I had about 30% success rate on them working perfectly. Also, more recently, in my case, the shipping to Canada inflicts severe pain on just about anything heavy on eBay.- Top

Re: 67 AM/FM radio question
I have about 40 of these C2 examples taken off eBay, mostly just to build a data base for my own purchases.- Top
