Drive Your Vette to Work Day

So, youse all driving your Vette to work tomorrow?

Seems many are since "the established day to honor the Vette" is June 30th and a Tuesday, folks have deemed the closest Friday to that day, to be the day to drive.

Since I still have that 3-letter word hanging over me (that is a JOB, John DeGregory) am thinking I may drive the LADY (1963 Z06 for those who do not know me and Lady) tomorrow and park her right out front of my gummit office. May drive her on Tuesday also.

Hmmmm I've been driving like Mrs Daisy of late. I wish you hadn't reminded me. My aim for the year is to not get a ticket. I'm not enjoying driving without the sound of the 4 barrels opening. Stewy

Drove my '69 50 miles through the heart of Los Angeles this morning and did not see a single Vette. Lots of silver Honda's and Prius though, Sad...

I don't have a Corvette to drive to work, but maybe next year my 1960 will be done! She is getting closer!
Cheers to all of you who drove today!

I work out of my home office, so I just ran it around the block this AM and back into the garage, does that count? Although, I will be taking it to B.G. tomorrow in St. Charles, IL. so that'll be about a 40 min. ride. Stop and see us at the booth.

23 out of 26 days this june with rain here on long island NY so there are few opportunities. Weather should be clear by Tuesday but I'm off for the summer!

I figure if its a sort of national holiday thing my antique car insurance would cover a trip to work for this one day so I did. Waved at a guy in a c6 on the way but he was oblivious. Most of my coworkers were out of the office at a meeting and I left at noon so hardly anybody got to see it. Oh well, at least there was plenty of space so nobody parked next to it in the parking lot.

I really wanted to drive my 'vette to work today, but the forecast (this morning) was for heavy thunderstorms and high winds starting around noon, so I passed. Would you believe it, it's 2:30 pm and not a dark cloud anywhere to be seen? And they just changed the forecast, moving the storms back to at least 6:00 pm. I really hate weathermen.

Why didn't you take the short cut?

We have "Bring Your Toy To Work Day" on July 1st. There wil be over 40 cars of various description. My 66 road warrior will be there, parked next to a bevy of C5s and C6s with good paint and lots of shine. There is a 68 barn find that one co-worker of mine plans to bring. He is hopeful that he may have a "survivor" candidate. It will be fun to see.

While this may be the only day some folks drive theirs to work, mine makes the 84 mile round trip at least a couple of times a month during the driving season. Any time the snow is off the ground and the salt has washed away is a candidate for "Drive Your Vette To Work Day"!

                              Cheers,
