I myself, felt the selection and diversity of the cars was excellent. I enjoyed the styling exercises, race cars, low mileage originals, L88's, the ZL-1, and other high watermarks of Corvette history. I would like to thank the individuals who assembled and contributed to this Special Collection. It was a real treat!

      Joe--
Glad to see you had my old Gulf Oil #2 car at least in the immediate background. I'm kinda sad that it was the last special collection. Early on, when they had it at the student center on campus at Bloomington is when it seemed to be most special. Old Gulf #2 was there four different times--the last two with different owners.

What did I miss. Does this mean that there will not be anymore Special Collections at Bloomington?

            Correct.
            They're done.

Then again, based on the chronically dwindling attendance it may not be long before the whole thing is done other than the auction.

Or is it like that already?

I miss those times also Mike. When we lived in Indianapolis went to Bloomington and stayed in the dorms---one year. From then on we stayed somewhere with a private shower! It was fun then and special. 'Used to buy a few things from John Rohner and really enjoyed the Special Collection, especially Paul Reinhart's Z06 near the door and the SS and Sting Ray on stage. 'Always drooled over Gulf #2 and the comp cars.

Celebrating both the people who impacted Corvette AND the Special Collection sounds good to me.

The way I understood the movie they will now honor people in all parts of the Corvette hobby. I'm not sure how you display them? In wax?

I thought that the NCM already had a "Hall of Fame." Why duplicate it?

I would guess that they will be honored by having their cars displayed?

The Special Collection is free to both the participants and the visitors, thus it is just part of the Bloomington attraction. How would this become a money making cause?
