Is there anyone that reproduces the rubber insulator that goes between the front spring and lower a-frame for a 1958? None of the suppliers I deal with, like Corvette Central, Zip or Chicago Corvette, have them and don't know of anyone making that part. I went on line and looked other places but so far haven't found any.

Re: C1 Front Spring Rubber
Didn't passenger car front cross members have a rubber bumper on them? Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter

Re: C1 Front Spring Rubber
Perhaps I can explain it better. It is a piece of molded rubber that goes around the coil spring. When I took the front suspension apart it was attached to the spring at the bottom. I haven't seen it in any parts books. However the service and assembly manuals don't show a very good picture. It looks old, like it was original. However the car was drag raced and perhaps it was installed to raise the front end for better weight transfer. It is an early 1958, #934. I think what I am being told is there was no molded rubber around the coil springs on original 58's.- Top

Re: C1 Front Spring Rubber
Those are aftermarket spring lift kits. They were to add height for sagging springs or for clearance for bigger tires. Not stock.- Top

Re: C1 Front Spring Rubber
Yep! Whitney used to sell them along with the twist in coil spring spacers. 'Had a friend who used the rubber ones after the metal spacers kept coming out of his red/black '67 396 Chevelle and another friend who put them in his Hugger Orange/black houndstooth '69 375 HP Camaro. he good old days.- Top

Re: C1 Front Spring Rubber
My most vivid memory of working on the early 50's Chevy's were the enclosed driveshafts. Working on those and replacing the first rear wheel bearings on the mid 60's, early 70's Corvette independent suspension rear ends were jobs where you could expand your cuss word vocabulary.- Top
