    LT-1 Heater Hose/Clamp Questions

I've read thru the archives but do not see specific references to the routing of the heater hoses for a 72 LT-1 (non A/C). Can anyone suggest a location for an accurate diagram or photo of the proper routing?

Also, in the clamp kit that I bought specific to the 72 LT-1, there are 12 clamps. 4 are for the radiator hoses, 6 are for the heater hoses and then there are 2 which are too small for the heater hoses. Does anyone know where the 2 small ones are intended to be installed? I don't see them anywhere on my existing hoses.

Heater hose routing picture -- might be in the AIM, but I doubt it. It will show base motor, but that won't work for your application; and neither will the C-60 section.

Maybe someone here, but I don't have a shot in my files.

    How about Dobbins Book?

Edit add: I can't account for more than 4 heater hose clamps. And little ones don't ring a bell either.

I would reccomend the M.F. Dobbins book "Fact Book of the 1968-1972 Stingray" many good illustrations that I think would answer your questions.(you can get it at the NCRS store)

        Hi Nick,
My guess is that the 2 small clamps are for the hose that runs from the ALUMINIUM radiator to it's surge tank on the right side inner fender.
As Roy's pictures show so well, the LT-! used a copper radiator and no seperate tank. I don't think the clamps should have been in your LT-! clamp kit.
        Regards,

I think you're right. I see an illustration in one of the vendor catalogs that shows the expansion tank which more than likely needs the small clamps at each end.

              Re: LT-1 Heater Hose/Clamp Questions

I had the same question for my 71 LT-1 and think 72 should be the same routing. I finally found a sort of ghost image in the 71 AIM on sheet A17 (engine compartment wiring general arrangement) Which shows the hoses swapping locatinon coming from the engine from top to botton before entering the first clip on the fender. This is all I have found and I am going with it unless I see something stronger. Ed

Me thinks that the extra clamps are for the heater water cut off which a '72 does not have
