    Getting off the subject a wee bit. I have read many times that Corvette owners are Red necks. Is this the case or have I been reading another idiots publishing's. Don't shoot me I live down under so I'm not sure about these comments. Stewy

        Stewart;

        I've been meaning to talk to you about your wild driving that had attracted your local Constabulary's attention a while back. I see recently your thread about not having seat belts in your Vette, and questioning whether you needed them for judging or not. My gosh man! You mean to tell us you drive wild without them?!? I would think you would even need to have shoulder harnesses to contain your wild spurts, Ha!

          Stu I hate buying things twice and I thought that my car never came out with seat belts so I bought a set of Service replacements for saftey. Now I have learnt I bloody need the real macoys so I have to buy another set? I love wasting money.
          I always wear a belt. I've smashed so many cars I know they do help. And my driving since the jacks got me has been impeccable, absolutely no 4 barrels, no skids, no drifting, life has been boring in my car of late. I can feel the right foot wanting to smash the pedal but I know it's the wrong thing to do. So I will do some meditating and settle the urge to beat the idiot in the rice box at the next set of lights. Stewy

            Too bad for you. I practice every chance I get!
            And then at the next light, I tell them I'd be embarassed if my car sounded like a fart can!

              That's a true statement, because I am.
              I'm also an Okie.
              I'm also frequently offensive, opinionated, belligerent and carry a .44mag to justify my viewpoints!

                  You need a 44 magnum to drive that car. I'm not quite sure what that car is. The worrying thing bout that car someone has spent many hours fabricating it. Why!!!!!!!

                    Stewart;

                    You mean to tell us there are no "Rednecks" in the "Outback" like "Crocodile Dundie"? How about "Mad Max"?

                    Since I believe your Government started confiscating guns, how sucessful have they been in the "rural" areas? Do they still call it the "Outback", or is that just the Restaurant chain I'm thinking of?

                    It would be a shame if you don't feel you can no longer "excercise" your Vette. Do you live in an urban area (populated) so that the speed laws and reckless driving laws are too constraining? I live near the county (country) side of Orlando here in Florida and, fortunately for me, I don't have to drive far to find some nice back roads that are not heavily traveled (specially on a Sunday morning). I take mine out regularly and try to at least wind out through third gear, or until I get chicken. My main concerns, as there are hardly any access or cross roads, are for wild critters like Sand Hill Cranes, Wild Boars, and Turtles, etc. My car loves it and it helps defibrillate my heart too.

                    I don't have many opportunities to race other cars and I wouldn't try from a stop light as I have a 3.36 rear end and close ratio gear box, but the last time I did punch it with anyone was rolling through a toll booth (I have a transducer) and a C-5 tried from a standing start at a cash box to beat me to a merge onto the highway - no way Jose!

                      Re: This guy is clueless about the Corvette

                      No guns out here. We just stab people to kill them instead. I'm a City Slicker but drive a vette. I drove Bimmers for years and got out of them when the group who drive them now started driving them. Ex Porsche owners I guess. The roads where I live are busy and very restricted in space and over patrolled by cops. I'd be better on a Vespa than in a car. The outback people use guns for animal pests. The only people that get shot are the drug people stepping on other peoples turf. It's a very safe country to live in if you don't get stung by box jelly fish, White Pionter Sharks, Crocodiles, Brown, Black or tiger snakes, Red Back spiders, Funnel Web Spiders or Blue Ringed Octopus. You can live a long life !! Stewy
