Factory Restamp

How often did the factory restamp the engine pad? I am looking at one that is supposedly a factory restamp and I am having trouble swallowing this explanation. Please advise. Thanks Tom

Probably more than we'd think Tom, but it is also a convenient excuse isn't it? Post up the picture and I am sure you will get a very qualified opinion here.

Yes, a picture might be worth a thousand words here. There is a current post about stamp pad grind outs that is pretty interesting if you haven't checked it out.

I doubt you'll see too many "factory" restamps. Grind outs and double strikes are a different story. Post up a picture if you have it so we can see what we really have.

Tom,

If you provide me with your e-mail, I can send you 2 cars that I have. The 65 I have is a 5 star Bowtie car that is a regrind and the 67 is a 10,000 mile grind out. Let me know.
