Crate Motor #'s

I am researching A 1963 Roadster ( pics available )for a friend of my wife's. The engine is a late model small block performance crate (?) motor. the # on the front pad is - VO913ZZ1. Does any one out there have any idea what motor this might be ? I have called several Chevy dealers here in Socal and got no help.
The car is for sale (long story)so Engine info would be very helpful !

Might be a ZZ1 engine, 345 HP.

It's a GM #10134338 or 10185025 which dates from the 1991-93 period. It was rated at 345 hp. It was manufactured on September 13 of the year found as the last two digits of the casting date on the block.

The engine, if it is currently as originally configured internally has the following:

9.8:1 compression ratio
aluminum heads GM PART #10185086 (cast 10088113)
hypereutectic cast pistons
forged steel, 1 piece seal crank
hydraulic roller camshaft GM #10134334

Over-the-counter factory replacement engines have been available for decades, but when GM Performance Parts released the 350 high-output crate engine--dubbed the ZZZ for its block-stamped manufacturing code--back in 1989, it was not immediately obvious how big an impact the move would have on the speed-parts business. Never before was a purpose-built high-performance engine available with a factory warranty, a move that all of a sudden gave hot rodders a third alternative to freshening a stocker with a few bolt-ons or going the full-blown custom engine route. Originally released as PN 10134338 with aluminum cylinder heads similar to those used on the L98 Corvette engine, a Z28 high-rise dual-plane aluminum intake manifold, hypereutectic 9.8:1 pistons, forged crank and rods, and a single-pattern 235-degree hydraulic camshaft with 0.480-inch lift, the ZZZ was rated at 345 hp. Still available in revised form as the ZZ4, the original ZZZ led the factory charge into the aftermarket engine business and forced independent engine builders big and small to compete with lower-priced crate engines that carried more than a taillight warranty.--Matt King

It was supplied with a "high rise" aluminum manifold of GM PART #10185024. This manifold was designed for a square bore carburetor (e.g. Holley), but no carburetor was supplied with the engine.

I have a ZZ1 that I bought new in 1991. The aluminum intake has no crossover heat passage way and is a high rise similiar to the the LT-1's aluminum intake.
The HP is like already mentioned 345 and the engine came with a HEI distributor built for the ZZ1 and has centrifical and vacuum advance. The timing is 10 degrees BTDC @800 RPM
The connecting rods are heat treated and shot peened 1053 forged steel with pressed pins "pink" color code.
Block is four-bolt mains and engine assembley with the Corvette aluminum heads and the aluminum intake weighs approximatley 100# less than a Chevy engine with cast iron heads and intake.
Oil pan is a 5 quart Z28 with baffle.
Camshaft is hydraulic roller tappet #10134334 advertised lift intake/exhaust 0.480"/0.480"

Due to time restraints at the time I viewed the car I was only able to retrieve the front pad #'s.
I wish to thank the many members that have responded to my thread. They have been most helpful at providing engine info in reguards to the vehicle I been inquiring about.
