Restoring Sun Visors. Question

I have a 1996 CE Conv that has the sunvisor extersions drooping. I also have a 1996 (very low milage ) Coupe with like new visors, which seem to have some sort of foam cushion under the fabric to make them a bit squishy when pinched, etc. The ones for the convertable are flat and limp. I opened up the seam on one and found only two sheets of cardboard that had been perforated where the extensions begin but the pieces were seperated at the perforations. There was some residue inside that appeared as though it was probably heat damaged from sunlight.

Does anyone have a solution or suggestion for the best way to restore the visors? Thanks for any suggestions. Ken

( I realize that this forum only goes through 1993 Models but I assume that the visors with the built in courtesy lights are the same and were used for several years. Thanks. KTM)

KTM,

I have a 96 with the same drooping visors and replaced them with new visors a friend is making. They are wonderful and have the lighted mirrors like the originals.

They are sold on e-bay under the name of thepartslady out of Florida or Alabama.
