Michael...
If the bottom door gap is good you may have to do what doug suggests. To move the door up to close the windshield gap, you must move both hinges up slightly. Remove the kick panels. Place a small jack with padding under the door, just under the hinge line for the door to rest on and move up the distance you need to close the gap. Slightly unscrew the bolts that thread into the anchor plates in back of the hinge pillar. Raise your jack as needed and tighten the bolt/anchor plates. Best have someone control the door at the door handle area while you go thru this exercise.- Top

Dennis, I tryed raising door up but it caused a problem with the front of door at fender they did not match as it made door higher than fender what type of bodywork would have been done to solve this before paint also I am not around any of these cars to look at so all I can go by are pictures I find in books or on the net what is the normal gap ( how close am I )thanks MIke- Top

Michael...
Looking at your pictures, your door is very close. The door top edge that runs near the windshield bottom should be even with the fiberglass body. Depending on the angle you look at this gap, it will look even or low. (picture #1 looks good)
During sanding of the door, this top edge must not be rounded or lowered, and left sharp.
If door gaps are close to the same width all around, I would leave it alone and not worry....- Top
