Everyone who is familiar with the 1957 model Corvette is most probably familiar with RPO 579E, which is the FI, Airbox, HD brake, column tach pkg.
Ever since the Civil War days, this option has been listed far and wide as RPO 579E, and that's how every person and every piece of literature refers to that option.
But since Ken Kayser's EXCEPTIONAL book has been published, with tons of documentation, it now appears that for all these years, RPO 579E has been wrong. It APPEARS that Kens documentation is virtually undisputable that the 579E SHOULD have been, and should now be, RPO 579D!
I've asked this before (a few times), and MINIMAL responses have been made. Is it because certain people are concerned about "saving face", no one really knows, no one cares, or because they feel this detail is just too inconsequential to be bothered with?
