photo identify vacuum hose with unique connector.

I removed this with the vacuum lines and now can not identify where it was pulled from.

it appears to be a Yellow striped Vacuum line approximately 1-1/2 ft. which t's into another line that's roughly 1 ft. Filiment tape on the connection.

What I can't identify is that it appears to be T'ed off again into a small hose with a metal tube exiting the hose which is clamped with small pinch clamps.

Whatever this attached to, wasn't replaced when I installed the new hose kit.

    Any help in identifying it?

Somethings amiss. (and disconnected) as that metal tube is likely broken off of something.

It appears the line originally ran from the wiper actuator relay, and was T'ed into the vacuum cannister.

What the small hose with metal clips is for is beyond me.

It must attach somewhere behind the dash.

I gutted the dash and found (2) relays. (1) behind the tach and (1) behind the radio. Both seemed to have all connections attached.

    beyond me.

Based on the bends in the hose, my best guess is that the small vacuum wire exited the dash from the same hole the Tach cable exits.

I found (3) vacuum pods behind the dash.

      1. under/next to the tach
      2. behind the radio
      3.Above the tunnel

All (3) had (2) vacuum hoses attached to them.

Again this hose exits off a T right in front of the Wiper Actuator Relay and goes somewhere, either under dash to a relay I haven't found yet or somewhere.

Gotta Love the 69 L46 with no provision to replace an original hose in a replacement hose kit, and no mention anywhere of it's existance in the AIM.

        John,

When I rebuilt mine I remember the setup that you are refering to. I am busy tomorrow but if I can remember on Sunday I will take a look. If my memory serves me correctly I remember the set up near the reserve tank.

Do you have A/C? it may be the vacuum feed for the trap door in the fan suit case?

I found referance to the hose in a search and it was also referring to AC attached to something on or near the drivers side firewall.

I have No AC, nothing on or near the firewall and the bend in the hose is clearly towards the center of the car from the Headlight actuator relay.

Hhhhhm. I wonder if I did at one time have AC........

That will seriously piss me off.

            1. hole behind drivers hood latch
            2. C60 drawing in AIM shows two relays with Red and Blue hoses, photo's 2 and 3.

            So much for originality.

What a sinking feeling. I've put so much money into this car.

I should have stuck with Chevelles where I would have immediately spotted evidance of AC.

Fiberglass the hole and drive the Rat I guess.

What a waste of effort, time and Money.

Somebody went to alot of trouble to hide it, I'm still not 100%.

Non AC radiator and correct number.

No evidance of Radiator supply tank ever being there.

Other Under dash AC components missing. I'm not sure.

Does the 2 under dash photos give it away yet?

Does not have the Tan and white hoses going to the console heater control which would have been for AC and watervalve.

No evidance of WSWA resevouir ever being there.

I still have 50% Hope...... Where's the AC guys?

The right top inner wheel well will have a cut out for condenser lines on an a/c front clip. Steve

                    John,

That is your vacuum source for the ASTRO VENTILATION. It will connect to one of the neoprene vacuume hoses fro the dial control.

I did a search on what you were referring to and there is no evidance of any holes being patched in front for the AC lines, and no fiberglass (Shield) in the inner firewall to protect the lines from road debree.

                      Feeling 60% Better.

All this could be covered up though...

Why would there be an AC vacuum line on what apears to be a factory wiring harness on a 57,000 mile car....?????????

That exact hose is called out to splice into on the AIM C60 option page. E4. States to splice into the Yellow wire and attach to the AC vacuum control.

Whatever metal tip broke off on the end, couldn't have been more than 6" inside of the firewall.

It would have never reached the vent controls.

                        But am 70% feeling better.

                          John,

ALL cars had this. Check your AIM for the vacuum diagram for the astro vent controls. This hose goes through the firewall with a grommet.

                            John,

The metal tip did not break off it was designed to pierce the larger hose THAT IS THE FACTORY SET UP for non ac cars also. I just finished a 69 435 with this exact set-up later cars they used a plastic vacuum tee for this.

I have a very late car (last day)

So it T's into the Yellow Hose and is clamped onto the pin on the other end.

Which attaches to where? Somewhere on the vent controls?
