    c3 wiper question

Got stuck in the rain yesterday..Wipers worked fine except that when i shut them off they wouldn't park. They would move about an inch up and down. When i shut the car off and restarted it the wipers stayed parked. I am guessing that there is an adjustment to stop this but don't know what it is.Any help would be awesome. Thanks Oh..it's a 75

    Re: c3 wiper question

If you were parking them on a dry windshield they sometimes stay up the one inch. When restarting fixed them I doubt the problem is an adjustment on the mechanical side but more like an electrical problem in the motor assembly or maybe some lube on the joints. The wipers on Corvettes get little use so they often have issues.

sounds like it may have a parking switch issue. did they keep cycling up and down an inch?If they did I would look at the park switch under the washer cover not a big deal to replace Steve

If it IS an issue with the vacuum parking switch, remember it's adjustable... Switch body assembly bolts to the cowl rail and switch has enlongated holes in the plastic mounting rail. That allows the switch to be moved slightly (up/down) to achieve a final fit adjustment against the RH wiper arm.

was wondering if the adjustment is in the AIM or somewhere else? Thanks

You can easily make the adjustment by eyeball...

With the mounting bolts loose and the parking switch in its full downward position, insure the wiper arms are in their fully parked position(s). Now, slide the parking switch upward so that it JUST touched the LH wiper arm AND the switch plunger moves to its actuated position.

Test the wiper parking function and make 'fine tune' adjustments as required. You want the parking switch to fire at JUST the point the RH wiper arm assumes its fully parked position.

I think Ken has a 75 and he posted a 73-77 question. I doubt telling him how to fix a car with a wiper door is making any sense.
