    Price opinion on a 62??

I am looking at a 62 roadster. It is an older restoration, all #s matching and original main componets. It is a 3 spedd base hp engine, no hardtop or other options. It has all paperwork from time of purchase new. It is in very nice condition. What is a good price in your opinion? Please advise. Tom

Price depends on Originality and condition.

A car described as "Real Nice" is honestly so vaugue that I'd be surprised if anybody offered an educated guess.

I would take detailed photos and post them as well as running down all of the original components on the car.

You may get a much better opinion that way.

Right now it's like throwing a dart at a dart board.

      $30K? $40K? $50K? $60K?

It all boils down to cosmetic condition and originality and could fall anywhere within a huge spanning range of price.

The price is market driven - desirable and in demand. Although what you describe is probably fairly rare, not many people want a base engine and 3 speed. If it is as you describe I would say it is on the low end of many market price lists on the web. Don H.

I just let a 62 with same owner since 64 go by. I was the high bidder of a private sale until I was rushing out the door to catch a plane to BG.It was white/red, base 327 w/3-speed, both tops, original jack & tools, welded wheels, etc. It drove really nice. Could have used a repaint. The phone call said, "we sold the vette last night". Talk about making you sick. I was supposed to get a call if anyone else made a higher bid. My bid-$31,500. Sold for $33,000. Will never let this happen again. If you don't buy this one would you send me a private email w/pics if you have them?

I don't have any pics. I did send the owner a message yesterday asking for more info and pics. I haven't heard anything from him. He is about 600 miles from me so it's not like I can just run over and look at it!I am sort of waiting on him,

Tom, Where are you located in Florida? What state is the car in? I lived in Winter Haven from 78-86. Keep me posted.
