Holley carb

Request any tips on removing a metering block from a Holley carb. The rear metering block has has not been removed in a long time and the gasket is retaining the metering block to the carbs body.
Have installed Renew Kits in Holley's before several times in the last 30 years, but this metering block is secured very well.
With the new type of Holley gaskets I don't expect this to happen again.

i just use a brass punch on the sides to move it back away from the main body

perma tex also sell a spray can of "gasket remover" that works well to remove the gasket
