I had a vague memory when I took the car apart that I had an original 67 327/350 horse air cleaner wing nut. This is THE only wing nut I can find. Believe me, I turned the garage upside down.......

        Chris,

Look in the bottom of the toolbox you were using when you took the car apart.

That's where I found my original top ignition shield bolt for my 67, after 20 years with a wingbolt in its place.

Jerry, I'll check that, but I've already almost completely turned the garage insight out. Me and the Mrs. were in the garage until 10 pm last night pulling stuff of shelves....

                  Mike,

Same wingnut on my 82 El Camino V6. Must be a very common GM part.

It's definitely an air cleaner wing nut for a '60's V8 Ford. It may have been on some Chevrolets too, don't know.

Mike, I agree, that's what I recall being there.

I've heard if the air cleaner wing nut is thick as a nickel, it's real. If it's thick as a dime, it's a repop.

That is the same style wingnut that was on my radial arm saw when new. 'Got one of those in the garage missing a fastener?

Nope, no radial arm saw here. Just one lonely 67 L79 air cleaner assembly, with no wing nut.
