Would like to have my "early 63" rearview mirror restored. Any recommendations? Thanks, Tom

Re: Mirrow restoration
Interior or exterior?
The reason for asking is that it may not be practical to restore an exterior rearview mirror (excess pit in the housing resulting from airborne debris)...
Interior mirrors can be restored but they ARE a challenge. Why? The glass is crimped inside the housing and it takes the right set of tools to de-crimp/re-crimp. Then, there's the issue of restoring the housing.
If it's a Guide mirror with chrome plated housing, the Guide emboss will vary in depth and can 'disappear' as a result of the polishing steps during re-plating.
But, there ARE folks who will provide interior mirror restoration services and one is Paragon...- Top

Re: Mirror restoration
Jeff Barbour restored my outside mirror for a 58 and did a fantastic job... It lost no point at the St. Louis Nationals in achieving a top flight Duntov award. Jeff is a C-1 judge out of Mohnton, PA... It won't be cheap though....but the work is excellent with the correct glass...
His work was so correct, i purchased another mirror from him for my 53 Eldorado...Attached FilesRegards,
