1966 Owners Guide Question

I have three second edition owners guides for a 1966 Corvette. There are two variations. One says on the back cover, under the flags, "REPRINTED COURTESY CHEVROLET MOTOR DIVISION". Other than that they are identical. Neither have any trace of the Corvette News card. Both have service literature order forms in the back.

How was the Corvette news card attached? Did second editions have the card?

Was the "Reprinted" version a GM reprint as opposed to a "licensed" reprint? and when did they make these?

The reprinted version is just that. Some third party reprinted it for retail sale.
The other may be a Helm, Inc re-issue manual. Helm printed the originals for Chevrolet but re-issued them for use in service. Many re-issues have Corvette News cards but some did not. The re-issues are different from the originals in print and photo quality.

I have a 1966 I purchased in 1967, and checked the booklet that has been in the glovebox titled Owner's Guide. A page right after the front cover has been torn out. On the contents page it says General Motors Corporation 1965, and also, First Edition, August 1965.

I also have a 1966 First Edition Owners Guide, Aug. 1965, and the first page of the booklet is the offer for an owners kit and subscription for Corvette News.
