White strip and white letter were optional. 9,140 vehicles were shipped with white strip , 24,102 shipped with white letter. The brand was Firestone 500. This model tire was eventually recalled because of a factory defect. The size was G70 x15. The equivelent today would be 225 x15.

...in addition to the Firestone narrow white stripe, white letter & blackwall tires, all three styles also came in the Goodyear "SteelGard" tire. I believe the brand one received could not be ordered by the purchaser of the car. You got what was installed on your car by St. Louis.

My new '74 and also one ordered by my racing partner at a similar time were both delivered with raised white letter Goodyear Steelguards. Delivered in Dec '73

My 1974 Coupe ordered at the end of December 1973 and delivered the first week of March 1974 had Goodyear GR70-15 Steel Belted White Lettered tires. On the window sticker it is option code QRZ. The price was $45.

My 74' convertible was ordered in June of 73' and delivered in Sept. of 73'. It came with the Firestone 500's. There was no option of mfg.,only style (raised white letter , white stripe).
