thanks, thats what I needed, I just wasn't too sure mine was the correct one I think it was though.

ya my foot grabbed it awhile back right after I bead blasted the intake manifold and it messed it up.

thanks for taking the time to get that picture, I really appreciate that.

only thing I dunno about is I think my spring was tied back to the front of my intake manifold to a little hole on the theromostat housing..yours look to be tied back towards the firewall.

Yes, mine is tied to a bracket off the backside of the carb. I forgot to mention that I have a 1969 L36, perhaps that's why.

ok ya I know the bracket you're taking about the one that supports the throttle cable..I'll look into it and see if mine should me like that too.

This is going to sound really dumb, but you have checked the AIM to see how the spring hooks up, right?

i keep forgetting about that aim bc i haven't had it that long..anyway I checked it out and his looks to be correct whoever had mine like I was describing was wrong.

for kicks and to show what I was talking about here are some pics my spring I think IS different than his which looks to be the correct one, obviously in the pics you can tell this was after I stretched it out, in the picture above before I blasted the manifold it still doesn't look like his.

this is where it was connected before I rebuilt the engine so I put it back there. if thats not where it goes which I don't think it is I wonder what that little hole is there for lol.

other end of it, looks different than his

here is how I have it now just so I can play with it a bit.
