    Block casting # ?? Joe ?

    Hello;
    Have a block casting # "1088548" the 1 could be a 4 or ?
    This number is on bell housing flange, right side if the distributor.

    No code(decked) in front of the right head.

    Think it's mid seventies 350 ? Don't have it apart.

    Has a weighted flywheel, but a smooth circular 7" dampener.

    Trying to identify the block and wondering why the weighted flywheel. Looks like a 400 weight.

    Your help is appreciated.

    Thank you.
    Ray
    And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
    I hope you dance

    Hello;
    Found online the casting #14088548 is 86-94 350ci. My interchange books aren't that new.

    BUT, still need to know why it has a weighted flywheel.

    Your help is appreciated.

      when GM went to a 1 piece rear seal the had to remove the little counter weight on the rear flywheel flange so they added it to the flywheel or flex plate for balance
