    67 overheating

Working out the problem of overheating on my SB car removed the fan and clutch to replace and found the following #s on the fan 91415 B75 The space being unreadable also 3955182. Can anyone tell me what that number relates to on a fan blade ? Thanks for all responces, Bill # 20328
    The car is a 327/350 w/ac

    Re: 67 overheating

Non-A/C SB cars in '67 used a 3770529 fan. I don't have a PN for the BB non-A/C fan. The AIM calls for either a 3789562 or 3863137 fan on A/C equipped cars.

The JG book tells us ALL cars used a 5-blade fan. The Catch-22 here is that 5-blade fans were NOT typically embossed with their PN! So, judges have to determine correctness based on knowledge and visual ID.

Jack: This is a early (Nov) car and has a 7 blade fan. We Know the 64/65 air cars had a 7 blade fan so is it a carry over ? Based on the mileage (24K) and the production date, I would argue with anyone that this is the way it came. Only the #'s could give the application.

        Bill,

The 3955182 fan did not exist when your 67 was assembled. The part number/part first came into production for the 1969 model year. The original application was/is 1969 (C.A.C. W/H/Per 350, 427). I would have to guess that the fan had been replaced at some time in the past.
