fuel in my 81 keeps draining down besides sealing the carb i would like to put a check valve between the fuel pump and carb the heat and humidity in texas is causing the fuel to evaporate after a week of sitting idle it took plenty of either and gas to finaly fire up if i start the car every second or third day it will fire right up the question is what is the diameter of the fuel lne so i can install a check valve thanks

Why not track down the real issue and fix that? My C3 will sit for months and still fire up on the first crank.

thanks could there be a check valve in the fuel pump that is defective causing the fuel to go all the way back to the tank

A very common cause of the condition you describe is leakage of the fuel into the intake manifold from the bottom of the carb through two small aluminum plugs. Look here first.
