on a 55 V8 where is the location of the plunger -type washer pedal in relation to the later foot pump? what are the differences?

PG foot pump is on the floor, 3 speed foot pump on the fire wall

roy, thanks for the picture. the picture shows me where the pedal was located before car #576. at this time i believe the pedal was moved to the cutout you have just to the left and slightly above your emergency lever. washer bags also were added at this time. since many people believe the 3 speeds were at the end of the 55 run it makes sense that the 3 speeds would have this higher mounted pedal. i think this repositioning of the pedal shows that GM at this point in the run had realized it would be installing a good number of 3-speeds.

Three speed , pic not so good but the location near Fuse box and steering Column and MB cut out area and cable rout.

roy, pictures do not show the foot pedal on the 3-speed. location of foot pedal is more to the left of the emergency brake and further down from the fuse than the pictures taken. if i'm wrong could you point out the foot pump in the picture. your pictures also lead me to ask another question. the hose cap on the washer bottle, is this the one used on 55 or does the cap have a crimped style top like on a pop bottle top?

Photos of Ferg's 55's - 1st is early with floor pump & 2nd is 3 speed with foot pump. Gary....

this last foot pedal is the one i believe was used on powerglide and 3-speeds at approximately #576. as for this pedal being installed on an angle as in the picture i would have doubts. the cars i have seen this pedal on are straight up and down.
