C3 Carpet grommet for seat belts

Does anyone know who has in stock the grommets on the carpet where the seat belt runs thru on a 68 coupe? Also who would have the sleeves that the screw runs thru to install lower dash pad ?

I'm less than sure about this, but I don't think 68 used a grommet there.

Let's wait for some other answers.

Some 1968s have been found with the grommets. When the JG was last revised, we did not have VINs or dates. The JG simply states that some cars have been seen with these.

I seem to remember that it was cars with the retractors that also had the grommets but am not one-hundred percent certain.

My 68 coupe has the original interior and seat belts, no retractors and no grommets. It is a July 68 build.

I am NOT the original owner, so I cannot attest that it never had them. I did at one time send photos of that area to another member who agreed his 68 looked the same.

Jim, I have a December 68 coupe and it came with the gromets for the lap belts, I could use some new ones as well.

I recently saw 3 original screws and sleeves for the lower dash pad sell on ebay for 12.50. They pop up there from time to time.

My car is a 5/22 production date. It does have the retractors but the carpet was so worn out that I could not tell where the belt came thru the carpet. I figured that the belt travel thru the chrome retainer on the corner of the floor and the sill so the belt must travel thru the carpet and they must have a grommet to keep the carpet from seperating.
The car without the retractors do they bolt down over or under the carpet?

Jim, the retractors I have are for the shoulder belts only and mounted on top of the carpet behind the seats on the side wall. I have no retractors for the lap belts. However my car had been so cowboyed up by the time I got it that I'm pretty sure nothing in the car is the way it came from the factory. I spend a lot of time reading and searching posts on the forum trying to figure out what is supposed to be what. jim
