    1966 intake cast iron question

i have a a.i.r. 327 300 hp and someone said that the exhaust ports under the carb they plugged with small tap in plugs. I do not want to plug the exhaust ports under the intake since i still use the stock choke,I would think the car would run and stay running much cooler once i plug the holes under the carb. The car runs so much better when cool and runs irratic when hot. Would like to know what to ask for to plug those holes up.

    thanks mark

    Mark -

Depends on the casting - some will accept 7/16" cap plugs tightly in the holes, for some it's better to tap and use allen-head pipe plugs.
