Bracket on last frame cross member

This is a bracket with 2 small nut cages welded onto it. The nut cages are welded onto bends on each side of the bracket. There are two that mount to the last frame cross member.

Nobody seems to supply reproduction of these. My nut cages have rusted off.

I forget what they are for. Anyone know the application and where I could get these?

    Hi Steve,
I believe you're asking about the 2 caged nuts for the gas tank strap bolts.
I'm not aware of where you might find them. Vette Products of Michigan is making frames and perhaps could help you out.

      Thanks Alan,
I have the bagged and tagged as gas tank strap. But I began to wonder since I couldn'd find these with any vendors.

Doesn't look like vette products have them either but it's difficult to tell since their web site is poor since they have a very limited number of pictures.

      I'll check out Carlisle.

      Thanks for your help

        Steve -

Call Vette Products and talk to Neal Porter - he makes 28 versions of C1/C2/C3 frames, and makes all the parts in-house - he can probably take care of you.

Talked to Niel at vette products and Gary at Caladonia. They are not aware of this bracket.

This bracket hangs off the last crossmember, vertiallly downwards. It attaches to the frame on a caged nut. At the bottom of the bracket is a caged nut as well. This is where the gas tank strap attaches.

This is a 73 coupe that I have owned since new so I know it's never been modified.

The nut cage on my brackets have rusted off.. but the bracket itself is OK.

Good think I bagged it and draw a sketch right on the bag on how it is assembled or I would have been totaly lost. The AIM is useless as it doesn't show any details in this area.

I may bring one to Carlisle and ask around.

Why am I the only one that runs into this kind of stuff?

I have some frame sections I'm taking to Carlisle and may have that complete rear part. Space K134-K136

Re: Opps---Bracket on last frame cross member

I thought this bracket was for the gas tank. This is the way I bagged it. But, with all your help, and looking for alternative use, I found it's actually for the rear filler panel. It is shown on page 160 in the AIM as item 11 GM part no. 3922304

In any case, I don't think anyone repros this.

I'll have to re-rephone vette products and Caledonia again unless anyone knows where I can get these.

              Thanks

Thanks, never mind, Paragon sells them. They are called tail lamp panel support bracket.

                Thanks all for your help
