    R=12 freon

    I would like to buy a 90 degree brass elbow fitting for the high side line. Does anyone know what that fitting size is? Like I said, this is my 66 r-12 system. Thanks ,DUTCH

    Harry, are you wanting a 90 adapter to use while charging the system?

      Yes, I am looking for that 90 degree adapter that fits on the end of my high side hose so I can get in better, closer to the compressor

        Re: R=12 freon high side fitting

        If you're talking about the fitting that the fitting that the hose screws onto it is 1/4", 45 degree flare. i assume you want a 1/4" female x 1/4" male fitting with a schrader valve on the male part.

        If that is the case you will have a tough time finding something like that, even in a good refrigeration supply house. AND the shrader valve on the compressor will have to be removed which means the refrigerant will also have to be recovered and put back in after the fitting is put on.

        I don't know how tight it is getting the hose on now but it hardly seems worth the effort. Have fun!

            Harry:

            Checkout Mechanics Tool Supply at http://www.mechanicstoolsupply.com.

            Go to AIR CONDITIONING, then ADAPTERS/FITTINGS/O-RINGS, and look about midway down the page. I think this is what you want, but not certain. Made by Robinair.

              I use a fitting like this for those hard to reach places. You should be able to find one at any good AC supply place.

                You will notice the fitting Ken pictured has a depressor for the schrader valve. You attach the fitting to your hoses then attach to the fitting on the car.
