Oil pressure line guage - missing fitting

It seems as though my oil pressure gauge line was replaced years ago with a plastic line???? I am trying to revert back to the metal gauge line but do not have the 1/2 brass fitting that fits in the engine block that the gauge line screws into. Any ideas where I might be able to get my hands on one of these fittings? Help (If there was a smiley face that was pulling it's hair out I'd attach it here)

I think this is what you are looking for. Actual size is 1/4NPT which looks about the size of a 1/2 inch bolt thread.

    Hope this helps

Note that that fitting utilizes the original GM proprietary curved/tapered female seat, which requires the correct mating male fitting with the same GM design. Paragon also has the male fitting for the (metal) line (both shown below). Corvettes didn't use compression sleeve fittings at either end like you find on aftermarket sets.

I too needed the fitting that screws into the block, fitting on the left in John's pic. I picked one up at the local auto parts store ( Car Quest) for a
          $1.84.

You may not need to order, pay shipping and wait for the part. Good Luck.

Thanks to all who valiantly came to my rescue before I became bald. With your kind assistance I was able to locate and purchase the piece I needed locally. It will be installed tomorrow.
            Thanks again!

A typical auto store male fitting is not correct today. The OD is way too large. I saw them on ebay for mucho pesos.
Valeria if you are going to Corvette Carlisle stop and see me. I am in the L 90's and will give you the real deal correct fitting. Unless you find an old auto parts store highly unlikely you will get the correct fitting.
By the way both of those fittings in the nice photo are "fat". (oversize)
Today the companies are making "fat" fittings. You would think they wouldn't do that to save on material but they do. Very frustrating. JD

Re: Oil pressure line guage - missing fitting

John, Thank you so much for the offer. I am unable to make it to the show this year but hope to take my car next year for it's 50th birthday. I regret that I will not be there as I grew up in PA and frequently attended the show. In fact the Carlisle show is responsible for my passion for cars.

I was able to find an old parts dealer who said it was the correct part. I spoke with the Auto Quest sales person and he directed me to him. Car people are the greatest. Just in case it happens to be the wrong part may I contact you and buy the part from you via the mail?

I don't know if you read the thread about the missing vacuum fitting for a 60 windshield washer pump but that was me also. Do you think you might have what I'm looking for? I need to get the diameters of both ends.
                Thanks,
                Valeria

John, The piece I purchased was way too large. I ordered a piece from paragon but would like to order a piece from you as this fitting is keeping my car in the shop. Please, Please let me know how I can pay you for this part so I can get this beautiful machine "on the road again" !
