Original vs. Repro Teak Wheels...Differences???

Okay,

I've searched the archives and haven't found a definitive answer as to what the noticeable differences are between a real teak wheel and a repro.

What are the tel-tale signs in both the center spokes and the wood?

At last count, I found perhaps FIVE sources for reproduction teak wheels. So, the term 'a reproduction' doesn't really get it, James...

Bottom line, some are SO CLOSE to factory originals that it's just impossible to distinguish.

There are some great "reproduction" teak wheels but the bottom line is that are reproductions. Freeman makes a very nice wheel.
They look very good but there is a "feel" to the originals which can't seem to be duplicated.
I have 5 teak wheels which came out of GM which were prototypes.
The spokes look just like any standard production wheel.
The wood part is beautiful. Mine are 2 made of teak and 3 other woods were apparently used for evaluation purposes.
I have pictures someplace , will post when I find them.
